In order to make hand-painted T-shirts you will need the following materials:
- Cloth painting
- T-shirt, preferably white.
- Brush.
- Pencil.
- A piece of cardboard.
Steps to make hand painted t-shirts
- Choose a good workplace, considering that it is likely to stain that area, something that always happens when we work with paint. Ideally, you should cover the table with newspaper and wear old clothes or, at least, cover yourself with an apron.
- Take the shirt you are going to paint and put in the middle the piece of cardboard, which should have at least the size of the design you want to make. This cardboard is put to be able to paint on a rigid and stable surface so that, in addition, the paint does not go through the shirt.
- Use the pencil to draw the lines of what you want to draw on the shirt. You can do it by hand or with a template that you have with designs. This step is not obligatory but it will undoubtedly be much more comfortable when it comes to painting having already some lines to fill.
- Go completing the design by colors, and let each color dry completely before moving on to the next. And so with all the others, you must let a color dry before going for another.
- It is recommended that you have chosen fabric paint suitable for the fabric you are going to paint, so the results will be better.
- When you have finished with all the colors and they have all dried, remove the cardboard from the middle of the shirt and put a paper in its place. This is done so that it absorbs any remaining paint, and you must press to take all the excess, but be careful not to remove the design.
