YouTube Tips And Tricks You Should Know About

According to YouTube’s product team, over 400 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. And every day, people watch over 1 billion hours of video on YouTube. Personally, I find myself visiting YouTube at least 10 times per day.

There are many features in YouTube that are subtle, yet very handy. Kudos to the YouTube product team for collaborating with me in compiling this list of 18 YouTube tips and tricks you should know about:

1.) 360-Degree Videos

360-degree videos on YouTube provide an immersive experience for those who want to explore places that they might be interested in whether it is to go swimming with sharksriding on a cable car in Switzerland or seeing a living and breathing dinosaur at the Natural History Museum in London.

2.) VR Videos On YouTube

Virtual and augmented reality has become a trending force over the last few years. YouTube VR is another immersive way to experience YouTube videos. You can watch YouTube videos in virtual reality by tapping on the Cardboard icon on 360-degree videos on your mobile device and slipping your phone in a viewer like Google Cardboard or a Daydream View headset.

3.) Add Videos To “Watch Later”

I am a big fan of the “Watch Later” playlist on YouTube. Every day, there are instances where I want to watch a long YouTube video, but I cannot do that during work hours. So I save those videos in the “Watch Later” playlist and watch them in the evening. You can quickly add a video to the “Watch Later” playlist by tapping on the clock icon on video thumbnails or by tapping on the “Add to” icon under the video on the watch page and check-marking the “Watch Later” playlist and buy comments on youtube.

4.) Buy And Rent Movies On YouTube

There might be times where you would rather stay in to watch a movie. YouTube has a marketplace that allows you to buy or rent movies on the platform. You can select from new releases, award-winning films and even movies that are still in theaters buy youtube views and comments.

5.) Watch Videos With Captions

Sometimes when I watch TV, I prefer to have closed captions on. Did you know that there are about 1 billion videos on YouTube that have automatic Captions features, including auto-translation? You can activate captions by tapping on the Settings button and enabling captions in your language or auto-translation when available.

6.) Double Tap To Seek

YouTube recently launched a feature called Double Tap To Seek. When you double tap on the left or right of a video playing on the YouTube app, it will rewind or fast-forward 10 seconds of the video.

7.) Share A Video That Starts At A Certain Time

Sometimes you want to share a video where it starts from a specific time in the video. YouTube allows you to share a URL, which will play a video from a specific time. This is set up by right clicking on a video and selecting “copy video URL at current time.”

Or you can also share a video starting at a certain time by tapping on the Share button and then tapping on the “Start at” checkmark. Then you can copy the URL that is generated from the Share button feature.

8.) Video Previews

YouTube launched a new feature that allows you to see a preview of the video on desktop. The video previews will appear when you hover over a thumbnail. This will give you a sense for what each video is about.
